Meet the Team

  • Joanna Bihler, M.S., CCC-SLP, AOMT-C is a nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist licensed in Oregon and Washington specializing in orofacial myofunctional disorders, airway-focused therapy, and neuromuscular re-education of the oral and facial musculature.

Her clinical work focuses on improving breathing, swallowing, and masticatory function through targeted rehabilitation of the orofacial complex. Joanna has a particular interest in supporting individuals preparing for or recovering from orthognathic (jaw) surgery. She provides specialized pre- and post-surgical myofunctional therapy designed to restore functional range of motion, improve muscular coordination and strength, and retrain foundational oral functions such as nasal breathing, chewing, and swallowing following surgical intervention.

Joanna also evaluates and treats individuals with ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) across the lifespan. She provides comprehensive assessments of oral function and works with families and airway-focused providers to determine when a tongue-tie release may be beneficial. When appropriate, she guides patients through pre- and post-release therapy to support optimal healing and long-term functional outcomes.

Joanna collaborates closely with orthodontists, dentists, ENTs, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons to help patients navigate treatment plans and restore comfortable, efficient oral function.

  • Sandra Lucas, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a nationally certified and Washington state–licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with advanced specialization in Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs). A proud Washington native, she has devoted her career to helping individuals of all ages optimize orofacial function, improve breathing patterns, enhance speech, and elevate overall quality of life through refined, evidence-based care.

Sandra brings extensive clinical training and experience in the evaluation and treatment of OMDs and is a strong advocate for a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to healthy breathing and oral function. She believes optimal outcomes occur when providers work collaboratively across specialties—often partnering with orthodontists, dentists, ENTs, pediatricians, and other airway-focused professionals to address the root causes of dysfunction rather than simply the symptoms. Her approach blends clinical precision with thoughtful, patient-centered care, ensuring that each client receives a treatment plan tailored to their unique physiology and needs.

In addition to her professional expertise, Sandra’s perspective is deeply shaped by her own experience as a mother. After navigating years of challenges related to her son’s orofacial function, he ultimately underwent a frenectomy as well as a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. This journey provided Sandra with invaluable insight into both the clinical and emotional aspects of treatment, including the importance of appropriate preparation and comprehensive pre- and post-procedure care. These experiences allow her to guide families with not only clinical expertise, but also genuine empathy, reassurance, and practical understanding. She believes that viewing care through both a professional and parental lens further strengthens her ability to support families through the treatment process.
