Not Sure Where to Start?
Schedule a brief, complimentary phone consultation to discuss whether you or your child may benefit from evaluation or therapy related to airway health and oral function.
Common reasons individuals schedule a consultation include:
• Mouth breathing or open-mouth posture
• Suspected tongue-tie or restricted tongue mobility
• Snoring, noisy breathing, or sleep concerns
• TMJ discomfort, clenching, or facial tension
• Speech or swallowing difficulties
• Preparation for or recovery from orthognathic (jaw) surgery -

Initial Evaluation
The initial evaluation typically takes approximately 60–90 minutes and includes a comprehensive assessment of oral structure and function, which may include:
• Breathing patterns (nasal vs. mouth breathing)
• Oral rest posture of the tongue, lips, and jaw
• Tongue mobility and range of motion
• Swallowing patterns and tongue thrust
• Chewing function and coordination
• Speech sound production and oral motor control
• Oral structural development, including palate shape and dental alignment
• Screening for tethered oral tissues (tongue-tie or lip-tie)
• Airway-related symptoms such as snoring, noisy breathing, or sleep concernsAn evaluation does not automatically indicate that a disorder is present. The speech-language pathologist will review the information gathered during the assessment to determine whether therapy or further intervention may be beneficial.
Following the evaluation, a follow-up consultation will be scheduled to review the results and discuss recommendations or an individualized treatment plan, if appropriate.
Evaluation findings are used to determine whether therapy may be beneficial and to develop an individualized treatment plan when appropriate.
Treatment programs are customized based on evaluation findings and therapeutic goals.

Myofunctional Therapy
Individualized therapy designed to support healthy breathing and restore coordinated function of the tongue, lips, and facial muscles. Treatment focuses on improving oral rest posture, swallowing patterns, and overall orofacial function.
Therapy may also support individuals preparing for or recovering from tongue-tie (tethered oral tissue) release or orthognathic (jaw) surgery, as well as those addressing airway-related concerns.
Treatment programs are individualized based on evaluation findings and therapeutic goals.
